Finals

So it's finals week (well the end of it for me)! I had one BIG final on Friday that I think went terribly! Not as bad as last semester's final went in the first half of this class, but still nothing to write home about. I have two more today in my Old Testament class and Contemporary Issues night class. Then watching some presentations (my group already presented and it went great) on Tuesday and headed home! So, if any of you all see this before then and want to pray for me for my exams or if you see if after pray for the profs to grade nicely, that'd be great! Thanks!

I'll be seeing some of you before headed to South Korea/China/Philippines, but otherwise, keep checking the blog 'cause I hope to post while I'm overseas. It may just be pictures and not a lot of writing because we won't have much free time (performing three concerts a day) but I'll try! Love you all!!

Competition Time

This weekend is GAFA's (Grace Academy of Fine Arts) student competition. Through GAFA, college students and local musicians teach lessons to those interested in the community. Our youngest student is four and the oldest is 67! I personally only teach trumpet lessons right now, and this semester only have one student. He is 13 and is progressively quite well, in fact, he had to do his competition piece early because of a family vacation and got a I. Tomorrow is the actual competition for all the rest of the students, and will last most of the morning. Lucky for me, or not lucky depending on how you look at it, I am in charge of it all. Not sure how I got roped into something like that, but I've organized the whole competition and am excited to get it going tomorrow. It'll definitely be a relief when it's all over! And let's not forget that projects, papers, and exams have been all this past week and the next week and a half before schools out. Do you think I could have had a more stressful end to the semester?!

Congrats Eric Alan

Congratulations on you dedication Eric Alan! Alan and Pam, I am so proud of you and your decision to dedicate Eric's life to Christ. Wish so much I could have been there to share that happy day with you, and the rest of the family. I was praying for you all as the day went on and thinking of you constantly. Congrats to Abi and Chad as well, good choices!

Not sure if you all know, but instead of being in WI for the dedication I was here in Winona Lake playing a concert with Grace Brass. It was a benefit concert in attempts to raise more funds for our trip to the Orient. Despite the small crowd, it was great to get some performance time and know what kind of preparations we'll need to make for the trip. Concert went very well aside from a few expected mistakes.

The Rock...

Not sure if you all got to hear about my disappointment on opening day, so here goes...

I was pretty excited about it being opening day last week Monday for the Brew Crew (and most other teams, but they don't matter!). I was sporting my retro jersey and ready to take all the harassment that that entails. And then, I walked by Alpha and there is this rock that gets painted and re-painted every week or so and what terrible sight do I see...the Cubbies! Much to my disappointment, I had to call Mom right away and share my sadness for a bit before getting to class. Figured I could share that sadness (or for some of you excitement) with you all! Happy belated Opening Day!

Always Good to be Home!

Just wanted to send my love to you all, that I saw and didn't get to see. It is always so nice to be home and just a killer that it's always so short. Over the weekend, I bought a new digital camera. I figured since I was headed overseas in less than a month, I might want one soon! I want to be able to pass the pictures on, so for those of you not on KaufmanDaze (which I can't get onto anymore, I need to be "re-invited") here are a few, and I will hopefully find a way to share more too!!

It's Pam's birthday today, Dad's tomorrow, and Mom's next week so I figured I'd send them all big birthday wishes on here. (Don't worry, they are getting more personal ones too, I'm not that lame!) So....

I also needed to send out a warning so there is no confusion at Easter. I am bringing home a good friend of mine for Easter. He's from North Carolina, so it is not practical for him to be going home for the holiday. Why not come to WI then?! His name is Jeremy, and for clarification, we are not dating. In fact, he has a girlfriend. We are just very good friends and play in Grace Brass together. There have been pictures of him on here before, but as a refresher I'll post one. Please remember that we are not an item, and pass that on to your families as well, to help avoid some embarrassment for you and for us! Thanks!! (I hope you can all figure out he's the one in the middle! :) )
